Indaba Music is an international community of musicians, music professionals, and fans exploring the creative possibilities of making music with people in different places. It makes finding other people, and working on recording, mixing, or mastering projects easier. For fans, Indaba provides unprecedented access to artists and to the creative process.
Tuesday 4 March is the date the first Music Producers Forum will be held at AR Studios in Botany (Sydney Australia). These free workshops, gives the Forum’s members a chance to hear and learn from from industry specialists in the music recording industry. Filip Saelen and AR Studio founder Ian Richardson are key speakers for this special “first” event.
AR Studios will host the first Studio Workshop for the Music Producers Forum on Tuesday 4 March. These workshops are a regular theme of the Forum meetings, providing members a studio environment to learn, experience and network with others.

Lead singer and producer of the Sydney based band Rivers and Roads Neil Lemon, will be accompanied with drummer Paul Morgan will as special guests of this months Music Producers Forum Meeting. Their recently released 4th album “Freedom to the World” has been getting airplay on ABC Radio, Video Hits and have been the focus on a Channel 31 documentary.
The first Music Producers Forum meeting for 2008 has been announced. As some of you know, space in the venue is limited, so be quick in securing your position. To RSVP for the event, click here
The current line up of presentations and workshops are as follows:
- Songwriting workshop demonstration:
Presentation of songwriting techniques utilised by 2 forum members. These producer/songwriters will share their tips on how to take an idea to completion as a total song. - Live Performance:
2 short acoustic sets (4 songs per set) by selected forum members. - Technology Demonstration:
Overview of the some of the technology production tools, and a demonstration of some of the current software available. -
- (NEW) Ian Nicholson, the organiser of the Sydney Film Maker’s group will give a quick discussion about his group, and the opportunities to work with some of the film makers providing music scores to some of the short films and documentaries in production.
- Final presenters agenda will be announced closer to the date.

A pre-Christmas “social” meeting is planned for Friday 14th December at the Sydney Rowing Club. Live music will be provided by local Sydney singer and songwriter Tavoi.
